Abstract

The article considers modern approaches to teaching physical education and organizing active leisure for students in the context of implementing the concept of the New Ukrainian School. The problem of the need to modernize physical education in the context of a decrease in the level of motor activity of schoolchildren and the growing influence of the digital environment on their lifestyle is highlighted. The main pedagogical approaches are analyzed, in particular, competency-based, activity-based, personality-oriented, and inclusive, which ensure the formation of key life competencies, the development of independence, responsibility, and the ability to effectively interact socially. The features of creating a safe educational environment that encompasses both the physical and psychological components are highlighted, as well as the introduction of health-preserving technologies in physical education lessons aimed at optimizing physical activity, preventing overfatigue, and forming healthy lifestyle skills. The feasibility of using innovative and digital technologies, in particular mobile applications, online platforms, and fitness trackers, as an effective means of increasing students' motivation for physical activity and developing self-control and self-organization skills is substantiated.

Special attention is paid to the organization of active leisure as an important component of the educational process, which contributes to the development of social activity, leadership qualities and a responsible attitude to one's own health. The main forms of extracurricular physical culture and health-improving activities and the role of partnership interaction between school, family and community in their implementation are identified. It has been proven that a comprehensive combination of classroom and extracurricular activities ensures the formation of sustainable motivation for a healthy lifestyle, an increase in the level of physical fitness, and an improvement in the psycho-emotional state of students.
