Abstract

The article presents a systematic analysis of safety issues and typical errors that students make while studying massage and kinesiology taping in higher education institutions. The relevance of the study is due to the high demand for restorative technologies in sports and the risks that arise from the incorrect use of these methods, from local reactions to masking serious symptoms. The authors found that most errors are of an algorithmic and safety nature. Students often make mistakes not in the technique of performing the procedure, but in making a decision on the appropriateness of the intervention and controlling the body's reaction. The most critical is the lack of pre-procedural screening, when the work begins without detecting "red flags" (signs of acute inflammation or infection). The main mistakes in massage are that the "stronger - better" attitude dominates, which leads to excessive pressure, work through sharp pain and the risk of exacerbations. Technical flaws, such as unstable support or work only with the hands, are transformed into safety risks due to loss of contact control. In taping, ignoring the rules of skin preparation and "overtightening" the tape (in particular, tension in the anchors), which provokes irritation and blisters, is widespread. The lack of monitoring and the lack of instruction for the user regarding the criteria for immediate removal of the application are highlighted. Based on the analysis, the need for standardization of training through the introduction of admission algorithms, criteria for stopping the procedure, and quality assessment checklists is justified. The authors propose to regulate dosage by the principle of portability and to introduce situational modeling to form sustainable professional decisions in future specialists. The article concludes that the safety of training is determined by the formation of safety competencies, and not only by the technical accuracy of individual manipulations.
