COMPETENCE-BASED FOUNDATIONS OF TRAINING FUTURE PHYSICAL THERAPISTS

The article substantiates the competence-based foundations of training future physical therapists in the context of integrating theoretical and methodological training in the field of physical education with clinically oriented components of the educational process. It has been established that modern requirements for the professional activity of physical therapists, driven by the development of rehabilitation care, the implementation of a patient-centered approach, and the principles of evidence-based practice, necessitate the formation of the ability to reasonably design, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of movement-based interventions.
Based on the analysis of international and national scientific sources, the role of theoretical and methodological training in the field of physical education in the formation of professional competencies of future specialists has been determined. It has been proven that such training ensures an understanding of the patterns of motor activity, the mechanisms of the effects of physical exercises on the human body, and the principles of their application, taking into account the functional state, age, and nosological characteristics of patients.
The structural prerequisites for integrating theoretical and methodological training in the field of physical education with clinically oriented components of professional training have been substantiated, including the content integration of knowledge, interdisciplinary interaction, orientation toward the analysis of motor activity, the development of skills in planning and dosing physical loads, as well as the individualization of approaches to the application of physical activity.
Approaches to modeling the educational process based on the competence-based paradigm have been outlined, including competence-based, integrative, systemic, activity-based, and patient-centered approaches. The obtained results provide a theoretical basis for the further development of models for the professional training of physical therapists.
