Abstract

The article examines the key trends and factors influencing the development of ski tourism and sports under conditions of global change. Particular attention is paid to global climate change, especially global warming, which leads to a shortening of the snow season and reduced stability of snow cover in traditional ski regions. It is determined that these processes create significant challenges for the functioning and competitiveness of resorts, while simultaneously stimulating the adoption of innovative technologies, environmentally friendly approaches, and principles of sustainable development.

Economic factors determining the pace of industry development are analyzed, including the level of investment, government support, and the purchasing power of the population. It is substantiated that economic stability contributes to infrastructure modernization, improvement of service quality, and expansion of tourism opportunities, whereas crisis phenomena have a constraining effect.

The main directions of adaptation of ski sport and tourism are outlined, including safety assurance, financial stability, climate modernization, human resource development, and the introduction of innovations. Development priorities in the short-, medium-, and long-term perspectives are identified, among which the formation of multi-seasonal and climate-resilient resorts is of particular importance. It is emphasized that, for Ukraine, an additional significant factor is war-related risks, which must be taken into account in the processes of industry recovery, strategic planning, and the development of international cooperation.
