Research in various sports has examined the contribution of individual events to the overall athletic
performance in multi-event sports, such as decathlon and heptathlon. However, similar studies have
not been conducted for women athletic heptathlon. Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the structure of the overall competitive results of Ukrainian female athletes in heptathlon based on the Ukrainian Championships from 2020 to 2023. Methods: The study employed theoretical analysis, data generalization, and analysis of documentary materials (protocols of the Ukrainian Championships from 2020 to 2023) using mathematical statistics methods. Results: Achieving high results in heptathlon requires not only physical strength but also strategic thinking and thorough preparation, including the choice of priority disciplines, which becomes a key component of success for leading athletes. This is especially true for heptathlon, where athletes must possess various skills and abilities to compete at a high level. The winner of the 2023 heptathlon demonstrated high results in shot put, 200m run, long jump, and javelin throw. These indicators indicate that the winner had a better level of preparation in speed and strength events. However, the 800m run was a relatively "failed" event for the winner, suggesting a lack of endurance and performance in high jump, including poor clearance of the bar and problems with the run-up. It is worth noting that there was a high level of competition in the 100m hurdles, high jump, and 800m run. Conclusion: The study of the competitive results structure at the Ukrainian Championships in heptathlon from 2020 to 2023 showed that in recent years, the winner has had an advantage in the following events: 100m hurdles, shot put, javelin throw, 200m run, and long jump. On average, the winner scored between 850 and 1002 points in these events. The total competitive result was 5433 points in 2020, 5938 points in 2021, 5838 points in 2022, and 6065 points in 2023. The level of results for other female heptathlon athletes was somewhat lower.
